Letter from the Director of Public Works regarding Linden's Water Supply
The City of Linden’s Department of Public Works is made up of two major divisions; Public Works and the Water Department.
Sewer, water and solid waste charges are billed QUARTERLY (not monthly) on the first of January, April, July, and October. Payment is due by the 25th of the month the bill is mailed, by 5:00 p.m. When the due date falls on a Saturday, Sunday, or holiday payment will be accepted in the office until 5:00 p.m. on the following date the office is open. A 10% late fee is charged on accounts not paid by the due date.
Failure to receive the bill does not waive the 10% late fee. Failure to pay by 5:00 p.m. on the due date will result in being placed on the water shut off list and a fee of $50 to turn your water off and an additional $50 to turn your water back on after your past due bill and fees are paid in full. If you are having trouble making your utility payments, please stop by the office or contact the Treasurer at (810) 735-7980 to discuss enrolling in a payment plan to avoid being placed on the shut off list.
