The bridge repair work on N. Bridge Street over the Shiawassee River is nearly complete. The contractor will be finalizing operations and opening N. Bridge before moving over to Ripley Road. The bridge work on Ripley Road will require full closure at the Shiawassee River bridge.  Neither traffic nor pedestrians will be able to travel through that closure. Weather permitting, this full closure is likely to occur on Wednesday, May 6, 2026. The work on this bridge is expected to take several weeks to complete.  Motorists should use posted road detours to avoid the area.
