Lead and Copper Water Level - Test Kits
As part of the Safe Drinking Water Act, the State of Michigan requires municipal water systems to test various water samples from around the community to ensure that the residents are receiving quality drinking water. We are currently conducting our second round of sampling for lead and copper levels in residential homes. At this time, we have a limited number of free test kits available for residents connected to the municipal water system. If you are interested in being part of this program, please reach out to our office to register for a free test kit. Test kits are available for a limited time and will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis. Each kit contains everything you need to complete the process including a sample bottle and sampling instructions. The sampling process typically takes 5-10 minutes to complete. The Department of Public Works will deliver the test kit to your home and pick up the sample when you are completed. The deadline for all samples must be completed and scheduled for pick up no later than Monday, November 17, 2025.
